Pumpkin Cookies with Brown Sugar Frosting (Jana Fuller's recipe)


Combine:
            2 cups flour
            1  ½ t baking powder
            1 t cinnamon
            ¼ t baking soda
            ¼ t Allspice
Beat:
            1 cup butter,  softened
            1 cup sugar
            1 egg
Stir in:
            1 cup canned pumpkin
Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.  (I do it 10 minutes)

Frosting:
Melt in medium sauce pan:
            6 T butter
            1/3 c brown sugar
Remover from heat and stir in:
            2 cups sifted powdered sugar
            1 t vanilla
            2-3 t hot water (Stir in enough hot water to make a smooth, spreadable frosting.

Frost immediately.  Store in an air tight container up to 3 days.
